Ayurveda views seasonal cleansing as a necessary practice for maintaining great health and preventing illness. Due to the pace of modern life, our environment and the foods we eat, we accumulate toxins, or ama, as it is referred to in Ayurveda, in our bodies and minds. The Ayurvedic system of healing uses a specific cleansing program that effectively removes accumulated toxins, reverses the effects of stress, increases energy and mental clarity, and restores your natural state of balance. In this group cleanse, you will attend 3 classes, receive a detailed guide and shopping list, and get the support of Sarah and the community.

Introduction to Ayurvedic Seasonal Cleansing Class: A kick-off in-person class where we will go over all the details of the cleanse, going into the whys, hows, and whats of the cleanse. You will leave with a clear understanding of how this specific Ayurvedic practice of cleansing works and how to successfully complete it. Whether you end up doing the cleanse or not, you will gain valuable information.

Shirodhara Bliss Therapy: Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the Shirodhara session feel like in real time?

    Most people experience warmth and a sense of rhythm at the forehead, followed by a gradual sense of quiet. It can feel meditative, and many clients describe it as calming without needing to “try” to relax.

  • Is Shirodhara mainly for sleep, stress, or something else?

    Clients often book it for stress load, mental overactivity, and sleep that feels light or restless. It can also be chosen during hormonal transitions or demanding seasons when you want a deeper rest experience.

  • Will I have oil in my hair afterward, and how should I plan for that?

    Yes, some oil may remain in your hair. Many clients bring a hat or scarf for the trip home and plan a gentle evening, with shampooing later when it’s convenient.

  • Do you include Abhyanga with Shirodhara?

    Some sessions include gentle preparation that may involve Abhyanga elements. What’s included depends on your constitution, goals, and the session plan discussed at the time of booking.

  • Are there situations where Shirodhara is not recommended?

    Shirodhara may not be appropriate during acute illness, active migraines, or certain medical conditions. A brief intake helps confirm whether it’s a good fit before you book.

  • Should I book one session or a series?

    Some people choose a single session for a restorative reset. Others prefer a short series during high-stress periods or seasonal transitions. Sarah can suggest a cadence based on your needs and schedule.

  • Where is Shirodhara Bliss Therapy offered?

    Sessions are offered at Embrace Ayurveda’s Bainbridge Island office, with convenient ferry access from Seattle. Occasional sessions may be available at select retreat locations in the Pacific Northwest, depending on scheduling.
